Jessie Edom and Jeff Zajac were on their way to put down their final deposit when they were hit by a 2010 Toyota Corolla on Route 107 in Seabrook, NH, on Saturday, Nov. 5, the outlet reports.

New Hampshire State Police said the car was trying to make a left turn into the Brook Casino when it hit the couple on their Harley Davidson, traveling in the opposite direction.

Zajac, who was driving the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene while Edom was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The people inside the Toyota were not hurt, police said.

"The world got a little darker yesterday when Jeff Zajac was taken from us yesterday due to a motorcycle accident," one Facebook user said. "Rip Jeff. You will forever be missed and we love you."

While Edom is expected to recover physically, she has been dealing with an incurable level of emotional damage, her friends and family said.

“She’s in pain all she has is time to just sit there and think about what’s happening," Kaila Lane, Edom's daughter, told WHDH. "I just wish she could sleep and not think about it. It breaks my heart to think about it.”

The couple's ceremony was scheduled for Nov. 12, according to a GoFundMe created on Edom's behalf. The purpose of the campaign is to help Edom "on her journey back to a normal life."
